MUSEO DE LA CIUDAD

CÓDIGO QR DEL MUSEO DE LA CIUDAD
THIS IS THE MURCIA CITY MUSEUM QR CODE.

5th Grade pupils visited the Murcia City Museum. This museum serves to understand the history of the city.

It is a XIXth century house. Three parts are intact preserved. As we enter, we find what they were used to be the former stables.

The inside of the museum hosts a stunning spiral staircase which allows access to the different floors of the museum.  The size of the steps is the same that they had in ancient times.  On the ceiling, there are angels painted who hold many pharmaceuticals because the building, formerly, was a chemist.

In this image, we can see an old typical “murciana” crockery. Between the plates, we can find “bacias” which were used to shave by men.

This is a Virgin of Arrixaca´s statue. She was the very first Murcia patron. The guide of the museum told us many local legends about her. One of them, it is about how a church was destroyed and the following day it was reconstructed and the Virgin was in.

This relief map is inspired in how Murcia was when it was surrounded by two walls. The first one tried to prevent flooding and the second one tried to protect the city from the invaders.

MUSEO DE SANTA CLARA

CÓDIGO QR DEL MUSEO DE LAS CLARAS
THIS IS MURCIA LAS CLARAS’ MUSEUM QR CODE.

Our childhood education 3 years old pupils visited Murcia Las Claras’ museum.

Las Claras’ museum was a palace where the king and the royal family lived in. The "Wolf King" lived there.
In that pond which it is not a swimming pool, there are some fishes and water used for watering the plants. There are some apricots, apples, peaches and plums trees. And there are many plants too.

In that place, which is the throne, the king and queen used to sit. At the door, there were some guards who allowed friends to go in. They should greet and say their names.

This is the museum but it is not true because they made it for us to see the place. This is a model made of wood.

Upstairs there are some pictures, Saint Roque´s dog, angels, a Baby Jesús, birds and many cute things.
We liked this museum.
